PGIM Chief US Economist Robert Soken stated that the intervention may have suppressed short positions but cannot reverse yen depreciation trend on its own.
US Treasury and Japan Bank of Japan coordination intervened bringing Yen back to 155 level from above 163, though later volatility nearly erased half profits stabilizing around 158.50 after announcement July 31.
